The Best Way to Spend a Day in the Macedon Ranges
In an area brimming with activities and attractions, we wouldn’t blame you for having trouble deciding how to best spend a day in the Macedon Ranges. Luckily, we’ve created a list of the top things to do with some spare time in the area.
Start your morning at Hanging Rock
Just out of Woodend, Hanging Rock is a glimpse into history – this former volcano was created over six million years ago. Hike to the summit and admire the views from the top or complete the base walk in about an hour to save time for other adventures. Speaking of…
Lap up the views at Camel’s Hump
If you swapped the pinnacle at Hanging Rock for a little extra time in your schedule, Camel’s Hump is a must-visit. As the tallest point in the Macedon Ranges, the views from the peak are astounding to say the least. You’re going to want to make sure you’ve got plenty of space on your camera roll to capture the scenery here.
Take a wander through Conglomerate Gully Flora Reserve
When a reserve has ‘flora’ in its name, you can be assured there’s an abundance of healthy vegetation. Wildlife is also in high supply here so keep a look out for Australian natives of the spiky variety. And if you visit after heavy rain, there’s even a chance you’ll see a waterfall.
Rest your legs over lunch
After all the sightseeing, you’ll have well and truly earned a meal and a refreshment. Head to Castello’s Victorian Tavern for pub-style food or 3 Little Pigs for a cosy café feel. Both are on Gisborne’s Aitken Street.
Fall in love with a flourishing future at Rosalia
Once you’ve filled your belly, why not do the same for your heart? After lunch, take a short drive to the Rosalia sales office at 89 Ross Watt Road, Gisborne. Once you step inside, it’ll be clear where the excitement surrounding this community stems from.
As you explore, you might just find yourself imagining what life could look like in this peaceful country town. And it doesn’t matter what day of the week you visit, the sales office is open 11am to 5pm.
Finish the day with a taste of the region
You’ve sampled the food, admired the views and imagined what your future life could look like in Gisborne. Round out the day by sampling the flavours of the region – who knows, you might even find your new favourite pour. With plenty of wineries and cellar doors dotted around, it might be hard to pick just one, but if you’re already at the Rosalia sales office, Gisborne Peak Winery is around ten minutes down the road.
That was only a day, but it could be a lifetime. If a handful of hours in the Macedon Ranges simply wasn’t enough to quell your interest, you’re not alone. So many are choosing to call Gisborne ‘home’, and Rosalia is the perfect chance to do just that. If you’re interested in joining the budding community, get in touch with our team today.
